Udupi, Mar 25: Varvadi Praveen Kulal (30) from Pernankila near here was arrested by the police under Goonda Act. He was arrested on Tuesday march 24. Pernanikila falls within the jurisdiction of Hiriyadka police station.
Brahmavar police circle inspector, Arun B Nayak, had sent a recommendation to the superintendent of police for Kulal's arrest, observing his intimidating behaviour, tendency to create unrest in the society, and other activities within the limits of different police stations. He had felt that it would be in the interests of the safety of the people and property to nab him under Goonda Act.
District superintendent of police, Annamalai, had forwarded this recommendation to the district deputy commissioner, Dr R Vishal. After the deputy commissioner approved the recommendation, the man was arrested and sent to Kalaburagi jail, it is gathered.
