Mumbai, March 25 (PTI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today thanked the Centre for sanctioning Rs 2,000 crore relief for the drought-affected farmers in the state.
"This is for the first time that any state has received such a large drought relief assistance," Fadnavis said here today.
However, the Chief Minister said, the state government had already disbursed relief to farmers without waiting for central aid. "So far, relief has been given to 80 per cent farmers," he said.
