India's rural GSM subscribers 330.34 mn in February


New Delhi, March 25 (IANS): The total number of GSM subscribers in rural India in February stood at 330.34 million, a statement by Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI) said here on Wednesday.

Net addition in rural subscribers in February was 4.70 million.

Among the telecom service providers, Bharti Airtel had the highest number of subscribers in rural India followed by Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Aircel and Telewings.

Bharti Airtel had 105 million subscribers, followed by Vodafone (96 million), Idea Cellular (86 million), Aircel (28 million) and Telewings (14 million), the statement said.

The statement is based on data revealed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
