Mangalore, Feb 22: Water unites people. The Cauvery water dispute is an example for this. Dakshina Kannada which already carries a tag as a Communally Sensitive area united to protest against the court verdict in the Cauvery Water Dispute.
On Wednesday, Feb 21, representatives of more than 30 organisations took part in the ‘Cauvery Nadige Jatha’ which began from Hampankatta Circle and ended in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Leaders from all religious backgrounds joined the protest march which even had a prayer meeting. Convened by the district unit of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, the rally was participated by Visvesha Teerta Swamiji of Pejawar Math
A memorandum to Prime Minister, President and the Chief Minister was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner.
