Mangalore, Feb 23: The prestigious annual Vandana Awards were presented at a glittering ceremony held at Kudla Pavilion, Balmatta here on Thursday February 22.
The awards have been instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City.
Awards were presented to Dr B M Hegde for medicine, Dr N R Shetty for engineering, M N Rajendra Kumar for banking, Amritha Someshwar for Literature, Ramakrishna for journalism and H Hajabba for social service.
The chief guest for the occasion was deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao.
Among those present were Rotaract Club Mangalore City president Rtr Subramanya Salian, Rotary Club Mangalore Central president Rtn Chandrahas Adyanthaya and awards committee chairman Rtn Dr B Devadas Rai.
