Mangalore, Feb 25: Mangalore MLA N Yogish Bhat on Saturday assured a sum of Rs 6 lac for the development of Mangalore City Corporation library at Valencia.
Bhat who was speaking after inaugurating the Children's Development Centre at the park on Saturday, Feb 25, said that a fountain would be installed in the Valencia Park for which a fund of Rs 1 lac will be given from the MLA’s Area Development Fund.
The library at Kadri would also be developed at a cost of Rs 8 lac from the fund, said Bhat adding that the Central Library at Baavutagude will be developed and computerized.
The upgraded library at Valencia was inaugurated by Mayor of Mangalore Vijaya Arun on Saturday.
Chief whip of the MCC Krishnappa Mendon, Deputy Mayor Abdul Saleem, Joint Commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde and Chief Librarian S M Bairanatti were present on the occasion.
