Boy drowns in Delhi


New Delhi, April 1 (IANS): A six-year-old boy died here on Wednesday after falling into a swampy area below water pipes, police said.

Farhan, a Class 2 student, fell while playing on the cemented pipelines of Delhi Jal Board near a bus station in Khajuri Khas in southeast Delhi, a police official said.

"The boy fell into a place where there was accumulation of water due to recent rains and the soil was moist and loose. He fell down and could not come out," the official said.
