Bantwal: Woman plucking raw mangoes gets electrocuted

Bantwal, Apr 2: A woman got electrocuted after coming in contact with high tension power lines passing over a tree at Dasakody in Baltila village in the taluk. The tragedy occurred at around 5.30 pm on Wednesday April 1.

Umashree (25), wife of Rajeshwar from Dasakody lost her life because of oversight. She was plucking raw mangoes from a mango tree located near her home with the help of a hook fitted to the end of an alluminium pole. Accidentally, the pole came in contact with high tension lines, after which she suffered strong electric shocks and collapsed to the ground.

Although she was immediately rushed to the government hospital here, her life could not be saved. She is survived by husband and two small children.
