Mangaluru, Apr 2: The union ministry of petroleum and natural gas has appointed M Venkatesh as director refinery of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd here. He was working here as group general manager - refinery till now. He has come in the place of Vijay G Joshi, who has retired. Venkatesh has resumed his duties as director refinery with effect from April 1.
Venkatesh, who studied in Manipal Institute of Technology and obtained engineering degree in chemical engineering, began his professional career in 1988. He joined MRPL as deputy manager in technical services in1994 in refinery section and was involved with upgradation and expansion exercise.
Considering his meritorious service, expertise, and technical competence, Venkatesh has been made the director refinery of MRPL,it is gathered.
