Heavy rainfall likely in Himachal


Shimla, April 2 (IANS): The hills of Himachal Pradesh are likely to get heavy rainfall over the weekend, said the Met Office on Thursday.

"The western disturbances will remain active in the Himalayan region and its adjoining plains till April 4, bringing more rainfall in mid and low hills," an official of the meteorological department here told IANS.

The official said there are chances of heavy rain or thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorms at Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Manali and Dharamsala.

Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 7.3 degrees Celsius, Manali 1.8 degrees and Dharamsala recorded 8.2 degrees Celsius. These towns have recorded 10.3 mm, 43 mm and 16.4 mm rains respectively.
