Udupi, Feb 27: The ruby jubilee and alumni day celebrations of Milagres College, Kallianpur here were held recently. 

The programme held as part of ruby jubilee celebrations was presided over by Bishop of Mangalore Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Pompei College, Aikala principal Fr Valerian Mendonca was the chief guest.

Prof G S Ramchandra, who retired this year after serving the college for 34 years and Sudesh Shetty, who bagged the VII rank in BSc University Exam were felicitated on the occasion.


St Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore spiritual director Fr William Gonzales was the chief guest for the alumni day programme. Fr Mullers Hospital, Mangalore administrator Fr Denis D'sa, Lecturer in Kannada, S M S PU College, Brahmavar Janaki M and Nagaraj of Planet Mars, Moscow, were the chief guests.


Milagres Institutions, Kallianpur correspondent Fr Marcel Saldanha presided over the programme. Eighteen retired teaching and non-teaching staff members were felicitated on the occasion.


Among those present for the ruby jubilee celebrations were PTA president Noreen Lobo, the alumni president Srinivas Bhat and the office bearers of the students’ welfare council.
