Mangalore, Feb 27: A talk on ‘People’s Role in Good Governance’ was delivered by Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde at St Aloysius College premises here on Monday February 26. The talk was organised by St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA).
Justice Hegde in his address to the students and faculty stressed on the need to develop patience in order to get rid of corruption, and termed ‘tolerance’ as the attitude that encourages corruption.
He expressed concern over the growing number of corruption cases and called upon parents to teach their children to live within their means in order to fight against corruption.
Justice Hegde, who is also an ex-Aloysian, further said that every citizen has a duty to rebel against bad governance.
Among those present were St Aloysius Institution rector Fr Francis Serrao, principal Fr Eugene Lobo, SACAA president Winston D’Souza, honorary secretary Arthur D’Souza and convener of the talk J B Monteiro.
