Bantwal, Feb 28: Selling pirated VCDs, DVDs and MP3 CDs is rampant in undivided DK district. The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) recently raided a petty shop and arrested the owner who was caught red handed.

The raid was conducted based on credible information. On Monday morning the DCIB team raided the shop in Mogdhal Gudde, Nithyananda Nagara here and seized 85 pirated VCDs, 19 MP3 CDs, 19 DVDs, 1 computer with 3 CD writers, 48 CD labels, 120 CD wrappers.

Suresh (33) a resident of Nithyananda Nagara was arrested. The value of the total goods seized is estimated at Rs 1, 10 lac.

In this connection a case has been registered in Bantwal Town PS under the Copyright Act.
