Mangalore, Feb 28: The department of journalism, St Aloysius College here will organize ‘Shooting Stars – 2007’ on Saturday March 3 as part of the culmination of its three-month short film making competition for students.

A press release stated that there will be a public screening of the movies shot by students during the competition along with three other movies by students which were not part of the contest. The screening will be held at the Xavier Block auditorium in the college premises at 1 pm.

Adlabs Cineplex representative Balakrishna Shetty will be the chief guest while college principal Fr Eugene Lobo will preside.

The event will begin with the screening of four documentaries made by participating students of the week-long national-level documentary filmmaking workshop held in October 2006. Certificates will be awarded to participants and winners on the occasion, the release stated.

Two Konkani and one Kannada movies will also be screened on the occasion.
