Special report by Lenny Barretto

Panaji, Mar 2: With elections knocking doors, the political parties are ready to crawl if you ask them to bend, for the sake of votes. Anything is possible. Few those who know to make hay while sun shines are on their job.

May month seems to be tentative election period, this year, for Goa. The electorate will vote for five years of government. Congress, BJP, MGP, UGPD are amongst the prominent political outfits who are eager to taste power. There are some more political parties who will field their candidates too. But it is the above mentioned parties, whiuch usually makes mark.

Issue galore. Mud slinging has already began. BJP HQ in Navelcar Arcade in the heart of city, just away from corporation of city of Panaji, witnesses weekly press conferences by leader of opposition Manohar Parrikar. If one goes by the press reports that appear post-Parrikar PC, this former chief minister is giving mouthful to his oppositions.

The congress refuses to accept in public that they are gearing up for the polls. But their acts surely indicates that the party fears to lose power. Anti incumbancy factor may or may not rule the elections, this time. I am not a political expert to say anything. But for sure, the congress will have to reply to the masses about their misadventures during their recent rule.

Rane government's rule will be compared with Parrikar's tenure. And here, Rane will face flak.

So, it's the time for elections. For many, it's the time to make money. Ask for bicycle and you will get motorcycle. So better ask for motorcycle and you may end up getting four wheeler. Chicken and beer will flow freely. Some people, including few journalists, are already enjoying their tours. So, come to Goa. If you are voter than for sure come here to see the flavour of the season.
