Mangaluru, April 8: D K Taximen and Maxicab Association has called off their protests against Ola Cab and City Cab.



The association has stated that they had written to the concerned departments to take legal action against Ola Cab and City Cab but there was no action from them.

“The Tourist Taxi owners and drivers are doing their business for many years and it is the only source of livelihood for them. Ola Cab and City Cab have created a situation by using Internet controlled devices whereby the traditional taxi drivers may have to go to the streets. So a symbolic protest was scheduled by the association against Ola Cab and City Cab.However the Commissioner of transport who got information about it,has contacted the association over the phone and assured to take suitable action against Ola Cab and City Cab. So the protests proposed to be held on April 9 are called off”, said Monappa Bhandary,president of Dakshina Kannada Taximen and Maxi Cab Association in a press release.
