Kundapur, Mar 4: Saturday March 1 saw the one-way traffic system being introduced in Kundapur, the taluk-centre of Udupi district. The purpose of the system is to achieve a hassle free and smooth moving traffic.

The decision was taken during a meeting of councilors of the Kundapur Town Municipality and the office bearers of different NGO’s under the initiative of Valentine D’Souza, Circle Inspector, Kundapur range.
   
The one-way traffic systems are from the new bus stand to Shastri Circle and vice versa. Special provision has been made for parking of vehicles from Parijatha Circle to the new bus stand on either sides of the road on particular days. Entry to goods vehicles on these roads is permitted only from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 8 pm to 6 am.

Entry to all vehicles other than regular buses are prohibited into the new-bus stand.
