Japan offers to help Rajasthan in urban management

Jaipur, April 10 (IANS): Japan has offered to help to Rajasthan in urban management, an official statement said.

This was conveyed by Tokyo Vice Governor Nobuhiro Maeda when Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje called on him in Tokyo on Thursday.

"The city of Tokyo was willing to share its learnings with others and would be happy to help cities in Rajasthan in urban management," said Maeda, according to the statement.

In regard to urban management, she and Maeda decided to consult the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in drawing up a programme where experiences of Tokyo in areas such as sewage management and urban transportation would be studied for adoption in urban centres in Rajasthan.

Raje, who began a five-day visit to Japan on April 6, had held roadshows for Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit, which will be held in Jaipur in November 2015.
