Mangalore, Mar 5: Urwa sub-inspector M N Rao has been suspended for lapse in duty on Sunday March 4 night.  Memos have been issued to two other officials too in this regard.

M N Rao was asked to give information about the place, timing and inauguration of Patrika Bhavan to Western Range IGP H N Satyanarayana Rao.  The latter was supposed to grace the occasion.    However, M N Rao failed in giving the information at the right hour.

This resulted in confusion to IGP in attending the function.  Owing to wrong information IGP came late to the function.  Accordingly SI M N Rao was suspended on Sunday night with immediate effect.  Two other officials who had taken up the charge of security too have been served with memo for lapse in duty.
