Mangalore, Mar 6: Beneficiaries of various government schemes belonging to minority and backward communities were given cheques at a programme organised by Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation (KMDC) here on Monday March 5.

The programme was presided over by district in-charge minister B Nagraj Shetty who also distributed the cheques.

Speaking on the occasion, Shetty assured that the government has been giving priority to minorities and backward classes and doing its best to ensure that welfare schemes meant for them reached the beneficiaries.

He further informed that KMDC will organise similar programmes at all districts of the state in the near future.

Among those present were MLAs N Yogish Bhat, Krishna Palemar, zilla panchayat president Sushma Janardhan, K MDC chairman Anwar Manipady and others.
