Udupi, Mar 6: The eviction of illegal settlements at Admar in the Thenka Yermal GP limits has now taken political colour.  Former chief minister and senior Congress leaders Dharam Singh visited the area Monday March 5.

As reported earlier almost 70 illegally-constructed hutments were evicted by Thenka Yermal gram panchayat recently under the leadership of president Sathish Salian and secretary Mamata Shetty.

Speaking on the occasion he said that he had already contacted chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, revenue department secretary Jamdhar and DGP in this regard and all of them have assured to look into the matter and give justice to the victims.

Former MLAs Vasant Salian of Kaup, U R Sabhapathi of Udupi, Gopal Bhandary of Karkala, Basavraj of Brahmavar, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, ZP president B N Shankar Poojary, district Congress president M A Gafoor, Block Congress president Shreekar Suvarna, Navinchandra Shetty and others were also present on the occasion.
