Udupi, Mar 7: The Manipal police have arrested Ali Jamasbi (30), an Iranian national, for overstaying in the country and hence not holding valid papers.

Ali is said to have arrived in India at a very young age in 1985. He had his education in Bangalore. He obtained a residence visa for a few years.

Upon expiry of the validity of his visa, he reportedly had not got it renewed. So the police arrested him on charges of overstay.
