Mangalore, Mar 7: If the talk of the town is Cricket the fear of the town is dogs. The episode of a dog killing a child in Bangalore has awakened the Mangalore City Corporation to control stray dogs within city limits.

Several pro-active measures to avert such incidents are taking shape in the city. The MCC too along with assistance from Animal Care Trust (ACT) has initiated the campaign to capture stray dogs.

An ABC method (Animal Birth Control) has been adopted in the city and dog catchers are on the watch for stray dogs

On Tuesday more than 20 stray dogs were captured within the city. Although several complaints have been received from the citizens, areas like the Urwa Market, Kulshekar and Kudroli are said to have high numbers of stray dogs.
