Mangalore, Mar 7: The advocates of the city staged a protest in front of the deputy commissior's office against the acid attack on advocate couple in Sullia on Wednesday March 7.

The advocates condemned the attack on their fellow advocate in stern words and demanded justice from administration.  They asked the district-in-charge-minister in particular to provide adequate security to them.  Terming the acid attack as barbaric, the advocates demanded a non-partial probe into the case so that the culprits are punished.

As reported earlier in these columns former president of Sullia taluk panchayat and senior advocate Venkappa Gowda and his wife Champa V Gowda has sustained serious injuries after some unidentified person threw acid on their face on Tuesday February 27.   

A total of 3 persons have been arrested by Sullia police in this regard and they have been remanded to judicial custody.
