Mangalore, Mar 8: The Dakshina Kannada chapter of Dalitha Sangharsh Samithi staged protests in front of deputy commissioner's office here pressing for various demands on Wednesday March 7.

The protestors demanded the administration to make proper utilization of the funds allotted for their welfare.  Their demands also included that of giving eggs to school children during mid-day meal, providing shelter to those who do not have house of their own, total ban on liquor in the state etc.

The DSS members also asked the government to provide RTC to 28 families residing near Bolor cemetery who have been residing in the area for long, opening new hostels in order to provide hostel facility to all applicants.

DSS leaders Rohitaksha K, S P Anand, Mahalinga K, S Remsh Kotian, Thimmappa V, Varun, Monappa B Salian and others were present at the protest meet.
