Mumbai, Mar 9: The women’s wing of the Billawara Association here observed the International Women’s Day at the Sri Naryana Guru Hall at the Billawa Bhavan, Santa Cruz (west) here on Thursday March 8.
Mother of actor John Abraham and well-known social worker Firoza Abraham was present as the chief guest.
Dr Sheela Prakash Paniker, renowned teacher Shambhavi A Kotian, Bhandary Samaj women’s wing president Ranjana Suresh Nivalkar, Theeya Samaj treasurer Mallika Gopalan and chief public prosecutor Rohini J Salian were the guests of honour.
Billawara Association president Jaya C Suvarna, vice-president Y Nagesh, Bharat Bank vice-president Vasudev R Kotian and director Shankar D Poojary were present on the dais.
Billawara Association women’s wing working president Jayanti N Ullal welcomed the gathering while honorary secretary Shashikala S Kotian compered.
Leelavati J Suvarna and Mohini V Kotian were present as special invitees while Sumitra Bangera proposed the vote of thanks.
Several cultural programmes were also held on the occasion by the Association members and members of other associations.
