Puttur, Mar 9: A teenaged dance teacher from Mangalore was killed in an accident at Mottethadka near here.  His friend who was riding the ill-fated bike too has sustained injuries and is admitted to hospital.

While the deceased has been identified as Dikshit (17), son of Vasu of Amblamogaru village near Derlakatte in Mangalore, the identity of the injured has been established as Sudhir (22), son of Eknath Poojary of Abbakanagar in Ullal near Mangalore.

Dikshit was a folk and filmy dance teacher.  He along with Sudhir was staying in a rented house at Mottethadka for sometime now.  They were teaching dance to students of various schools in the vicinity.

On Thursday March 8 afternoon, they were going to Koornadka school to teach dance when the accident occurred.  A recklessly-driven lorry brushed with their bike as a result of which Dikshit fell on the road along with Sudhir.  Though he was rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last on the way.

Town police have registered a case in this regard.
