Mangalore, Mar 10: Namita Shyam, a first time BJP corporator from Konaje has unanimously been elected as vice-president of taluk panchayat on Friday March 9.

Election officer Krishnamurthy announced the unanimous election of Namita.  ZP member Sucharita Shetty and APMC president Krishnaraj Hegde were also present on the occasion.

While Gokuldas Shetty of BJP and Shriyal Hegde of JD (S) had respectively been president and vice-president of BJP-JD (S) coalition taluk panchayat for the first time, Ranganath Shetty of JD (S) and now Namita Shyam, a BJP corporator have been elected as president and vice-president.
