Key IS commander, accomplices killed in Pakistan blast


Islamabad, April 17 (IANS): A key Islamic State militant commander has been killed in a blast in Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan, media reported.

According to details, extremist commander Hafiz Saeed Khan was killed along with three accomplices in the blast in Khyber Agency on Thursday, ARY news reported.

Saeed, 42, who was earlier with Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP), had lately pledged allegiance to the IS.

After joining the IS, he named his group IS Khorasan spanning Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh and parts of central Asia.

However, the report did not mentioned the nature of the blast which claimed Saeed's life and who perpetrated it.
