Baghdad, April 18 (IANS): A total of 11 people were killed and 55 others wounded in a car bomb and a roadside bomb explosions in two Shiite dominated districts in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source said.
In one attack, eight people were killed and 31 wounded when a booby-trapped car detonated at a busy area in Habibiyah district in eastern Baghdad on Friday, the source said, Xinhua reported.
Separately, a roadside bomb ripped through Amil district in southwestern Baghdad, leaving three people killed and 24 others wounded, the source added.
The security situation in Iraq has been drastically deteriorated since June last year, when bloody clashes broke out between Iraqi security forces and the Islamic State militant group.
