Mangalore, Mar 11: T R Jagannath, Suratkal Police Inspector, investigating the murder of BJP leader Sukhananda Shetty, has filed a charge sheet against 25 accused before the Second Judicial Magistrate First Class Court here.
In all, 27 persons have been charged with killing Sukhananda or abetting the killers, the police said. Two of them, Mulki Rafique alias Kaka, said to be the mastermind behind the murder, and Athik alias Sudhir, were killed in an exchange of fire with police subsequently.
Thirteen of the 25 persons charged were in judicial custody and others were absconding, the police said.
