Mangalore, Mar 11: Bhandavya Mangalore, a federation of social service organizations celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 11 here.
A rally was flagged off by Mayor Mangalore City Corporation, Vijaya Arun from Light House Hill which culminated at St Agnes Special School Grounds.
At the Special School Grounds a formal programme was held which was inaugurated by Zilla Panchayat president Sushma Janardhan.
Fr Denis Moras of chancellor of Mangalore Catholic Diocese presided over the programme. Deputy Director Women and Child Welfare Department Getrude Veigas was the chief guest.
Merlyn Martin, advocate and director, Deeds Mangalore was the resource person and spoke on ‘Women and their rights.’
