Report and pics from Rajtilak Naik in Goa
for Daijiworld Media Network - Goa

Panaji, Mar 12: Goa is popularly known for its natural and scenic beauty all over the world.

But, sadly, there is the other side of the coin, which has been caused by mismanagement on the part of government authorities in the state and of course by the general public too.

Appropriate signboard for the department concerned: the sorry state of the official signboard of the archives and the archaeology department

Real animals: the neglected and vandalized signboard of the animal husbandry department in Panaji

The green suspense: this is a traffic sign covered with creepers just outside the temple of democracy, the Goa assembly complex at Porvorim

If at all someone's life is in danger, it is of these life-guard stands on the Miramar beach in Panaji which are crying for help

No spitting please: maybe the sign reminds those, who otherwise would forget the spitting habit, to fulfil the formality, thus defacing the walls of the electricity department in Panaji

Old style preserved: the displaced footpath tiles near the old secretariat in Panaji

Stink all over - a very common sight just outside the inter-state Kadamba bus stand in Panaji

Charity begins at home:  the official signboard of the North Goa Planning and Development Authority reminds us that a lot of planning and development is needed here, in the first place

The sleeping rule: A traffic sign in the capital seems to have taken the knock lying down

The wavy zebra skin: for the last several months the zebra crossing near the Abbe Faria statue in Panaji has been lying in a  neglected state

Have a look. Does it stir anyone's conscience? Let us have your comments, just in case.
