Udupi, April 21: Shirva Kutty Shetty(70) well known in social,religious, political and educational spheres in Shirva and adjoining areas passed away at his residence in Shirva on April 19 after illness.

He used to solve any problems in Shirva and other gramas impartially through Panchayats or other ways. He used to solve disputes through amicable settlements without going to courts. He worked as working committee member in various educational institutions for more than 30 years. He has served as school development council president in Shirva Balladi Zilla higher primary school. He was the vice president of building committee of Shirva Vishnumoorthi temple, worked as an active member in Shirva Manibettu Mahalingeshwara temple development,in Shirva Nyarma Jarandaya temple works twice, in Shirva Mattaru Babbarya temple, Shirva Manibettu Brahma Baidarkala garadi and Shirva Babbu Swamy temple. He was also the president of Ganeshotsava committee Shirva and Shirva Kambala committee for fifteen years.

He was awarded the title ‘Dharmatma’, by social and religious organizations for his valuable service. He has left behind his wife and a large number of friends and relatives.
