Udupi, Mar 13: The youth Janata Dal leaders have demanded the bus owners' association to cut down bus fare following decrease in diesel prices.
Youth Janata Dal president Vasudeva Rao said that if the ticket price is not decreased they would hold road block, protest in the district. "Whenever fuel prices increased, ticket price too shot up considerably. Now that the diesel prices have come down by almost Rs 2.20, bus owners are not willing to decrease ticket price. Is this justice?" he questioned.
He also said that he would along with his party members would hold talk with the chief minister and the transport minister to introduce KSRTC buses on regular basis to the rural areas in the district. "There is the private bus operators lobby which has been playing a major role in not introducing government buses in the district. However, we would try our best to reverse this so that people can come out from the monopoly of private buses," he said.
