Udupi, Mar 13: The members of the minority community will soon have 5,000 individual toilets.

This was announced by state Minority Development Corporation chairman Anwar Manipady at press conference held here on Monday March 12.

As per the proposal, the beneficiaries will receive Rs 5,000 as interest-free loan and Rs 1,000 as subsidy, he said.

He also informed that the Corporation plans to set up a peace coordination committee in several taluks especially those which are communally sensitive.

The state government has already released a fund of Rs 48 crore in addition to Rs 5 crore to the Corporation out of which Rs 37 crore have been utilised, he said.
