BSNL employees suspend work in Jammu

Jammu, April 22 (IANS): Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employees on Wednesday started a two-day nationwide strike here, demanding a revival of the loss-making telecom company.

All offices of BSNL remained closed for transactions on Wednesday. Customers going to deposit their bills at various BSNL counters had to return disappointed.

BSNL employees gathered outside their offices here to register their protest although services to subscribers were not suspended during the strike period.

Some employees at the Bahu Plaza office of the chief general manager of BSNL locked the office from outside, raising slogans in favour of their demand to revive the organisation.
