Mangalore, Mar 14: Assistant Director General of Police (Prisons) S T Ramesh Kumar visited city on Tuesday to inspect the 7.5 crore district jail upgradation project.

Speaking to media persons, he said that telephone facility will be provided to the inmates of the prison so that they may stay in touch with their family members. These connections will be monitored and the conversation recorded to ensure that the facility is not misused. Further, he said that the inmates will be given Telephone Cards to make calls.

He further said that the proposed Mangalore Central Jail will be located in its present location.

Assistant Superintendent of Police B S Lokesh Kumar and Jailor Suresh were also present.
