Mangalore, Mar 14: The district stadium committee and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) are likely to sign a memorandum to improve facilities at the Mangala indoor and outdoor stadia.

At the meeting convened here on Tuesday March 13 between the committee members and SAI officials, Sports Authority of Karnataka director general K C Ramamurthy said that though the state government will retain full control over the stadia, the responsibility of upgrading them will be handed over to SAI.

The upgrading work will include improving the athletics track, the basketball and volleyball courts and facilities for weightlifters.

The memorandum is likely to be signed before March 31, as per the decision taken at the meeting.
