Puttur, Mar 15: Udaykumar Uppinangady of 'Hosadigantha' Kannada newspaper has unanimously been elected president of taluk journalist association. 

Narayana Naik of 'Suddi Bidugad' is appointed secretary while Purandara Shetty of 'Vijaya Times' will be the new treasurer of the association.  Santhosh Kumar Berike of Suddi Bidugade has been unanimously elected as the joint-secretary.

Speaking on the occasion legal adviser of the association B Purandar Bhat said that journos need to retrospect them and their work once in a while so that they are clear about their mission.  "We need to society-oriented and not person-oriented.  We have the responsibility of keeping the society rightly informed about the things gong on and not giving wrong information," he added.

The meeting was presided over by out-going president Praveen Kumar.  Senior journalists Nazeer Koila, Sudhakar, Atmabhushan Bhat, and Karunakar Rai were also present at the meeting.
