Mangalore, Mar 15: The state-level conference of Catholic elected representatives organized by Laity Commission of Catholic Bishops Conference of Karnataka will be held on Sunday March 18 at Rosario Church hall here.

This was announced in a press conference by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza held at Bishop's House on Thursday March 15.

The one-day conference will be inaugurated by Arch Bishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore on Sunday morning.  Union labour minister Oscar Fernandes will be the guest of honour on the occasion.  Bishop Robert Miranda of Gulberga, Bishop Anthony Swami of Chikamagalur, Fr Derick Fernandes, Bishop designate of Karwar, Blasius D'Souza, MLC, Ivan Nigli, MLA, former union minister Margaet Alva and former MLA Winifred Fernandes will grace the occasion as chief guests.  Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore will preside over.

J R Lobo, project director of KUDSEMP will deliver a lecture on "Role and Responsibility of Catholic Elected Representatives in Local Administration." during the conference.

Sandesha director and PRO of Mangalore diocese Fr Francis Lewis, Fr J B Crasta Fr Vincent Monteiro were also present at the press conference.
