Mangalore, Mar 18: The annual HR Seminar – 2007 was held on March 16 and 17, 2007 at School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya College.

 

Tamilvanan, Chairman, New Mangalore Port Trust, Mangalore inaugurated the programme.  Purandar Shetty, Site In-charge, BASF India Ltd, Mangalore Works was the Chief Guest Dr. Jacinta D’Souza, Principal of the college presided over the function.

The two-day event began with a session by Sudhir Pai, DC – HR Manager, Infosys Technologies Ltd, Mangalore on the topic ‘HR Challenges in the IT Sector.’ The second day witnessed dissemination of knowledge and value based oration by K M Bopanna, Director – Human Resources, Tyco Electronics Corporation India (P) Ltd, Bangalore on ‘India’s Economic Overview and Values and Ethical Conduct.’ 

 

 

Jovina Madtha, Manager – HR, Aztec Soft Ltd, Bangalore covered the challenging aspect of ‘Talent Development in Organisations.’ The highlight of the Seminar was the last session – ‘Formulas for Success’ by Ashwath Ramaiah, Founder & CEO, Unique Consultants Pvt Ltd, Bangalore. 

For the first time in the annual HR Seminar, the participants were put to test with a case analysis competition and a quiz contest. It certainly made the student delegates put on their thinking caps and bring out the best in them.

 

The curtains came down on the two day HR Seminar with the Valedictory. Abdul Saleem, Deputy Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation was the Guest of Honour. The Forum honoured Abdul Saleem an alumni of the college.
