Mangalore, Mar 18: Besides an aqua park and golf club that are coming up to promote tourism in and around the city, a ropeway has been proposed to be set up between Sultan Battery and Tannirbavi here.

The projects have been mooted to be developed under the joint participation of public-private sectors.

The government has earmarked Rs 20 crore for the purpose and has commissioned the Karnataka Government Industrial Investment and Development Corporation as the nodal agency in this direction. Mangalore MLA Nandavar Yogish Bhat is also chairman of the corporation.

The corporation has also plans to develop other prominent tourism spots with the participation of the private sector.
