Mangalore, Mar 19: The state-level conference of Catholic elected representatives organized by Laity Commission of Catholic Bishops Conference of Karnataka was held on Sunday at Rosario Church hall here.
Delivering the keynote address on the occasion, Arch Bishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore said that the elected representatives should be bridges between the government and the people.
Mangalore Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza presided over the programme.
J R Lobo, project director of KUDCEMP delivered a talk on "Role and Responsibility of Catholic Elected Representatives in Local Administration."
MLC Blasius D'Souza, MLA Ivan Nigli and Belgaum diocese Bishop Peter Machado were present on the occasion.
Around 500 Catholic elected representatives participated in the conference.
