Telangana IT minister to visit US to attract investment


Hyderabad, April 30 (IANS): Telangana's Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao will be visiting the US from May 5 to attract investment to the state.

During his two week-long visit, the minister will meet several industry leaders, and potential investors.

Rao, who is son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, will be attending a series of meetings in Washington DC, New York, Pittsburg, Dallas and Bay Area.

The main focus of the trip would be on attracting investments into IT, electronics, pharma, defense and aerospace industries, said an official release on Thursday.

The minister will also meet the Indian Ambassador Arun K. Singh.

The minister, who will be accompanied by IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, will also attend events organized by Telangana diaspora in New Jersey, Dallas and Bay Area. He will be interacting with diaspora and soliciting their partnership in achieving 'Bangaru' (golden) Telangana.

During his interactions and meetings with potential investors, the IT minister would highlight the advantages of investing in Hyderabad and Telangana.

He would be explaining about the new industrial policy, single-window clearances for industries and the self-certification provision.
