Eight militants killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, May 1 (IANS): At least eight militants were killed on Friday during a clash between Taliban terrorists and security forces in Afghanistan's Laghman province.

"A group of militants attacked a police checkpoint in Alinegar district which resulted in retaliation by the security forces," an official statement said.

During the clash, seven militants, seven police personnel and five civilians were also injured, the statement added.
