Kundapur, Mar 22: The silver jubilee celebration of the Wrestlers’ training center at the local Bhandarkar’s college was held recently. Retired officer of the nationalized Syndicate bank K Gopinath who was the chief guest spoke on the occasion.

He said that the present day politicians especially the people’s representatives should be trained in this ancient art of wrestling so that the pandemonium that we occasionally witness in the sacred forums of the people such as the Parliament and the legislatures might be shown in a brighter light of discipline, dignity and decorum. On a lighter note, he said that the art of wrestling will enable them to exchange blows and counterblows in the Parliament.
 
Wrestling instructor Padmanabha Ganiga was honoured on the occasion, while winners in wrestling championship at the inter-university level were also felicitated.

Shankara Narayana, the physical director of the college welcomed the audience. Physical director for women Renita D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
