Bengal BJP leaders to brief Modi on state situation during his visit


Kolkata, May 4 (IANS): A team of West Bengal BJP leaders will brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the situation in the state during his visit here this weekend, state party chief Rahul Sinha said on Monday.

"A team of the state BJP will be meeting him. I will brief him about the situation in Bengal while he is here," he said at a media meet here.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said he has already received a call from the prime minister's office regarding Modi's trip.

Modi will launch three flagship social security schemes - Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana - in the city on May 9, hours after arriving.

He is also scheduled to call on Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission's hospitalised president ASwami Atmasthananda, and visit the order's global headquarters Belur Math.
