Mangalore, Mar 22: The inmates of St Antony’s Home for the Poor here had a gala time celebrating Family Day on Wednesday March 21. The programme was organised by Mangalore Ladies Social Service League.
The programme was presided over by Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the importance of family in a person’s life and also lauded the efforts of the organisers in holding this programme.
He also appreciated the donations made to the Bishop’s Relief Fund by the League.
Superintendent of Police B Dayanand was the chief guest on the occasion.
Joint secretary of the League Leena Fernandes read the annual report.
Among those present were Shashikala Dayanand, St Antony’s Home for the Poor director Fr Clifford D’Souza, League vice-president Greta Rebello and secretary Elveira Krishnan.
