Mangalore, Mar 22: A massive Sunni conference will be held at City Ground at Derlakatte near here on Sunday March 25 evening.

The conference has been organized by Sunni Active Committee of Derlakatte in protest against the Salafi movement.  The members of Sunni committee have claimed that Salafi has been involved in activities which tarnish the image of Islam as a whole.

The conference will be inaugurated by Shaikhuna Bekal Ibrahim Musliar, president of Jamat-ul Ulema, Karnataka on Sunday evening.  MSM Abdurashid Zaini Kamil Sakhafi, president of SSF of Karnataka will deliver the introductory talk.  Maulana Perod Abdurehman Sakhafi will be the chief speaker at the conference.

Haji Yenepoya Mohammad Kunhi, former president of DK Wakf Board, Hyder Partippadi, member of JD (S) national committee, Haji U K Ibrahim Ullal, president of Ullal Dargah Committee, Haji U K Monu Kanachoor, president of Kanachoor Education Academy, Shaikhuna Ali Kunhi Ustad Shiriya, Mudarris of Poyyatabail, P M Abbas Musliar, president of Al-Madina Manjanadi and others would grace the occasion.
